Within this year's fashion calendar, Originate proudly released seven distinct clothing collections. Each set was carefully curated to capture the essence of different styles, inspirations, and trends. Whether it be our Ode to Mother Earth with Terra - successfully launching on Earth Day, the yin and yang of fashion - celebrated with our Shiro Kuro collection, that with all your support quickly transcended to our best-selling collection, or our festive edit Theia - the most refined example of quite luxury, we aim to cater to every individual's unique fashion preferences.
Starting the year off was our Bluebell collection - With Bluebell we wanted to encapsulate the audience with clean, simple and comfortable clothing made in ultra-premium fabrics of habutai, crepe and cotton silks to take you along winters in the most serene colour - blue. Various shades of blue represent stability, trust, and reliability. Blue can evoke feelings of peace, clarity, and a connection to the vastness of nature - from nature is where we came across the flower, Bluebell - which stands as a symbol of humility, constancy, gratitude and everlasting love. We wanted to start the year off with our gratitude towards you in accompanying us in another year of conscious living and design.
Moving on to Blush - we were doing #Barbiecore before the world did. Blush is our ode to Pink - a colour often associated with being too “girlie” or too “childish”, but in fact it goes beyond the stereotype. Blush is not merely a color, but an embodiment of tenderness and understated elegance that can mesmerize and uplift. This is the mode on which our designs are based - be it our Blush Boat Neck Dress or our Blush Co-ord Set, this collection was designed to allow us to connect with our softer side, to bring out our compassion and sensitivity and lead the world towards a more elevated well-being. While designing our Blush collection we wanted something that was going to shoot up in trend but something that will also have a timeless appeal in a captivating color that continues uplift, leaving a lasting impression on those who embrace its subtle allure - this is Blush, made for you, against all odds.
Changing gears from the upliftment of Blush to a more subtle nod to Earth, with Terra - a collection that was our bow to mother Earth. Launched on Earth Day, developing Terra was made with the motive of simply being conscious, contemporary and effortless. Terra has earthy, natural tones and is made in the most soft, natural cotton linen fabrics in the most comfortable and breathable silhouettes that will effortlessly take you from day to night, from work to happy hours and last in your wardrobe for seasons to come. Terra was made with the aim to provide our customers with fashionable options without compromising on ethical shopping choices. Encapsulated with the most beautiful hand embroidered dragonfly motif on the garments, Terra quickly became a favorite among the crowd for women either going to work or planning their next getaway.
From one uniquely versatile collection to another, making way for a launch like no other, our Shiro Kuro collection. Literally translating to “Black-White”, this is a simple collection, made entirely in a rich Ivory colour contrasted with a sharp Black and enhanced with hand embroidered details, and was swiftly declared a hit within a few weeks of its launch, all thanks to your love and support. One reason for its success is its timeless appeal and clean aesthetic that can be transported throughout the year at any time of the day! We always strive to deliver a sustainable wardrobe choice in order to promote a more conscious shopping experience to share high quality garments with an unvarying appeal that will last a lifetime - Shiro Kuro delivers just that. Contemporary, clean and oh so comfortable, Shiro Kuro is your best friend for all seasons!
Everybody loves a good sequel, and Nostalgia 2.0 delivered just that! Our Nostalgia collection was launched in 2022 and was a smashing hit! Naturally, we had to follow up and deliver to your requests for adding another colourway! Here’s presenting Nostalgia 2.0, a bestseller in warm tones of reds and beiges and crafted in handwoven, yarn dyed stripe, check and solid pure cotton fabrics, enhanced with beautiful floral hand embroidery details. We try to use as many hand embroidered aspects as possible in order to save a diminishing craft while also uplifting artisans and build a sustainable livelihood for them. Nostalgia 2.0 was designed keeping only you in mind, our ever so supporting customers, as it is by your popular demand, that this collection was launched and designed in colours that flatter, in fabrics that are gentle on your skin and silhouettes that exude breathability and style while following a conscious route towards fashion.
Gliding our way onto Theia, a drop to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. One of the most striking features of Theia is its exquisite gold and silver dual tones. These opulent hues are expertly blended to create a mesmerizing play of light and shadow. The result is a collection that is truly radiant and eye-catching. The luxurious silk fabrics used in Theia further elevate its appeal. Not only do they add a touch of opulence, but they also feel incredibly smooth against the skin. Theia garments are designed to be as comfortable as they are beautiful, ensuring that you can enjoy the festivities with ease and grace. Each piece in Theia is embellished with intricate embroidery detailing. These delicate motifs are meticulously crafted to create a visual feast for the eyes. But what sets Theia apart is its ability to exude quiet luxury. In a world of glitter and glam, Theia opts for understated elegance. It is a collection that speaks volumes without having to shout, making it perfect for those who prefer to let their style do the talking. Theia's festive collection is a testament to the artistry and passion that goes into creating truly remarkable pieces. It embodies the spirit of Diwali, the festival of lights, and captures the essence of celebration and joy.
Concluding the year with our Sai Riyo collection, a collection mindfully designed using old fabric stock, recycled and repurposed to launch classic, style essentials to seamlessly blend in your wardrobe for all seasons. Sai Riyo is a conscious collection that led us to look back, reflect and dive deep into materials we already have instead of always trying to find something new - sometimes what you're looking for is already there - and this is exactly what happened in the making of this collection. We realised there's so much fabric available in-house that we decided to use these exquisite textiles and convert them into apparel designs that not only serve a functional purpose of warmth, comfort and style but also have a sustainable, multipurpose use instead of being pilled up in storage. In the classic tones of beiges, whites and stripes, this capsule was enhanced with a sketch like hand embroidery details - one piece even has over 15 hours of embroidery work by our supremely talented karigars! We were nervous about this launch, but in the end, it turned out to be loved and more importantly, appreciated, not only for its design aesthetic but also for its use of recycled materials and upcycled display of garments.
